Third Pregnancy Bump Comparison Part 2

Second trimester with my third baby has proven to be more tiring than the other babies, but at least less tiring than the first trimester!  At 19 weeks I was even able to start exercising again, though running and even walking uphill on the treadmill were out due to some muscle cramping (felt like a side stitch but in the front).  I have been doing Pilates every day and absolutely love it, I think I am a Pilates addict!  I’m excited to be postpartum so that I can do all the floor moves laying on the back or tummy, it will be a fun change!

Here are the links to the Mari Winsor Pilates videos I’ve been alternating on Youtube in case you’re looking for a home workout that’s safe but still effective–there is definitely a burn: Buns and Thigh and Upper Body.  They are great because they don’t require any back or belly lying.  I had these on VHS back in the early 2000s, still just as good!

Ok, now for the bump comparisons!

Weight: Like I said last time, I haven’t weighed myself at all.  My belly is measuring just fine so I don’t feel like the number on the scale will benefit me in any way.  Obviously, the belly is growing, but the rest of the pregnancy weight seems to be going to my boobs, and it’s rather annoying.  I am not a fan of buying bras, but I had to get a new one because what I had just wasn’t cutting it.  Well, literally a week later I was spilling out of it.  And I’ve been too cheap to get something else!  I don’t remember having this problem at this level with the other two babies; I definitely already have milk in there so I’m wondering if my body is just so used to nursing it’s getting ready extra early this time!?

Cravings: I really haven’t had too many cravings.  I went a few weeks loving cocktail sauce with shrimp (I’m thinking it’s the vinegar!), and mayonnaise is consistently up there.  I also had a week where all I wanted for sweets was butterscotch; not caramel, not chocolate, BUTTERSCOTCH!  More candy has been consumed that I’d like to admit, and I’m actually looking forward to the postpartum weight loss experience just to clean out the sugar.  But all in good time!  I can say that my appetite has been really low, like once I’ve had breakfast I could probably be done for the day (minus the butterscotch of course!).  That’s a new experience, I never felt like this with the other pregnancies.

Bump: Definitely carrying higher this time, feeling a lot more pressure on my ribs on one side and more difficulty with catching my breathe than with the other babes.  When we had our half way ultrasound I had a low-ish placenta so we did another one to make sure it moved up—sure enough, it did, woohoo!  I have been doing handstands almost every day, that must be what did it!  I do think the bump is bigger this time around even though I started at a lower weight.  Maybe the higher bump is what’s leading to my lack of appetite?
